The purpose of this portfolio is to keep track of
the whole practice teaching experience and to have evidence of it. It is a record
of all the classes given and how I imparted my teaching philosophy. It also has
evidence of the teaching-learning process and how I executed my class through
videos, pictures and description/narratives. It’s a new and different way to
hold my documents which is by using the internet. By it being a blog, it is
more accessible and you can take it practically everywhere instead of carrying
around a heavy portfolio. You also get to experience the videos and other
formats such as presentations which can’t be viewed in a regular portfolio. It also
gets us more hooked with the internet and technology (let’s face it; it’s what
students love and sometimes prefer). We’re living in a technological world
where each day documents are preferred to be seen via internet. Besides, it’s
one of the best ways to collect such a wide range of information in a
presentable matter.
My objective with this electronic portfolio is to
keep it as a memoir or proof of all the hard work and learning experiences that
will go through the practice teaching. It is a way to look back and see in what
I can improve in and what good things I should re-use that worked out for me. It
will also help me organize all the information and important documents as well
as reflect upon this whole process; what I’ve learned and what I can improve on.
Overall, it will help me evaluate myself and have at my reach such a valuable part
of my academic life; my clinical practice.
